Pirates on the Brain & Art Worth Framing

Standard

All I can think about right now is pirates! The Beaufort Pirate Invasion is less than a month away and we’re working on the ultimate costume for Riley. I’ve already ordered her a new, handmade captains coat and muslin shirt on Etsy and I even found a good baldric to hold her sword. All that’s left is finding a good pair of boots and pants to complete the look.

I got the idea to make Riley her very own pirate flag. I don’t know what possessed me, but I’ve started the design, pinning all the pieces in place, but now I have to sew it. Problem is, I don’t own a sewing machine–I’ll have to do all the stitching by hand!

I think it looks pretty good so far, but I just hope I can pull this off! I’m really excited to see everything coming together.

Riley’s been busy the past few weeks attending weekly art camps offered by her art teacher at school. She’s loving every moment there and has brought home great work! Our favorite is below…we actually framed it and have started a “gallery” of her artwork.
